Author Guidelines: Indonesian Journal of Economics (IJE)

Indonesian Journal of Economics (IJE) accepts original research articles in the fields of Economics, Management, Business, Accounting, Insurance, and Banking. Submitted manuscripts must be original works that have not been previously published or are currently under consideration by any other journal.


1. General Requirements

  • Language: Manuscripts may be written in grammatically correct Indonesian or standard academic English.

  • Manuscript Length: The article should be between 4,000 – 7,000 words (including references and tables).

  • Document Format: Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format, A4 paper size, 1.15 spacing, with 3 cm margins on all sides.

  • Plagiarism Policy: All manuscripts will be screened for similarity using Turnitin. The maximum allowed similarity index is 20%.

2. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should be organized in the following order:

  1. Title: Concise, informative, and not exceeding 15 words.

  2. Author Identity: Full name (without academic titles), affiliation (institution/university), and correspondence email address.

  3. Abstract: Written in a single paragraph (150-250 words). It must include the research objective, methodology, key findings, and conclusion. Abstracts must be provided in two languages: Indonesian and English.

  4. Keywords: 3-5 words or phrases that represent the research topic.

  5. Introduction: Explains the background, research urgency, a brief literature review, and the research objective.

  6. Research Methods: Describes the research design, population/sample, instruments, and data collection and analysis techniques.

  7. Results and Discussion: Presents research findings systematically, supported by relevant tables/graphs, followed by in-depth interpretation and comparison with theories or previous research.

  8. Conclusion: A summary of findings, research implications, limitations, and suggestions for future research.

  9. References: List only the sources cited within the manuscript.

3. Tables and Figures

  • Tables: Table titles should be placed above the table, left-aligned, and numbered sequentially (Table 1, Table 2, etc.). Use only horizontal lines (no vertical lines).

  • Figures/Graphs: Figure titles should be placed below the figure, center-aligned, with high-resolution quality (minimum 300 dpi).

4. Citation and Reference Style

IJE adopts the APA Style 7th Edition (American Psychological Association). Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management applications such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.

  • Journal Reference: Author, A. A. (Year). Title of Article. Name of Journal, Volume(Issue), Pages. DOI/URL.

  • Book Reference: Author, A. A. (Year). Title of Book. Publisher Name.

5. Submission Process

All manuscripts must be submitted through the OJS (Open Journal System) on the official Indonesian Journal of Economics website. Authors are required to upload:
