THE EFFECT OF COMMUNICATION AND TEAMWORK ON EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE AT THE REGIONAL SECRETARIAT SIBOLGA CITY

Abstract

This study aims to determine the Effect of Communication and Teamwork on Employee Performance at the Secretariat of the Regional People's Representative Council of Sibolga City. The type of research used in this study is a quantitative research method with a descriptive approach. The sample in this study were employees at the Secretariat of the Regional People's Representative Council of Sibolga City with a questionnaire distribution of 46 respondents. The results of the study showed that the correlation coefficient obtained showed a strong relationship between Communication and Employee Performance of 0.674 and Teamwork and Work Performance of 0.628, categorized as strong. Based on the analysis of the Determination Coefficient obtained of 0.560, this means that 56% of the variation in the dependent variable Work Performance is determined by the independent variables Communication and Teamwork simultaneously, while the remaining 44% is determined by other factors not discussed in this study. The t-test results of the study revealed that the calculated t-value for Communication (X1) was 4.348 > t-table 2.01410 and Teamwork (X2) was 3.571 > t-table 2.01410. Therefore, the hypothesis that Communication and Teamwork, partially or individually, have a significant effect on Employee Performance at the Secretariat of the Sibolga City Regional People's Representative Council is proven and accepted. Meanwhile, the F-test results showed that the calculated F-value was 29.634 > F-table 3.21 with a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05. Therefore, the hypothesis that Communication and Teamwork have a significant effect simultaneously or simultaneously on Employee Performance at the Secretariat of the Sibolga City Regional People's Representative Council is proven and accepted.
