Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is an influence of workload and job stress on employee performance at the Sibolga City Civil Service Police Unit. The type of research used in this study is a quantitative research method with a descriptive approach. The sample in this study were employees at the Sibolga City Civil Service Police Unit with a questionnaire distribution of 44 respondents. The results of the study showed that the correlation coefficient obtained showed a strong relationship between workload and employee performance of 0.704 and the relationship between job stress and employee performance of 0.641. Based on the analysis of the coefficient of determination obtained of 0.620, this means that 62% of the variation in the dependent variable of employee performance is determined by the independent variables of workload and job stress simultaneously, while the remaining 28% is determined by other factors not discussed in this study. The t-test results revealed that the calculated t-value for Workload (X1) was 4.752 > t-table 2.01808 and Job Stress (X2) was 3.661 > t-table 2.01808. Therefore, the hypothesis that Workload and Job Stress, partially or individually, have a significant effect on Employee Performance at the Sibolga City Civil Service Police Unit is proven and accepted. Meanwhile, the F-test results showed that the calculated F-value was 33.475 > F-table 3.23, with a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05. Therefore, the hypothesis that Workload and Job Stress have a significant effect simultaneously on Employee Performance at the Sibolga City Civil Service Police Unit is proven and accepted.
