THE IMPACT OF MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND COMPETENCIES ON EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE AT PT. PERUSAHAAN LISTRIK NEGARA (PERSERO) UP3 SIBOLGA

This research is motivated by the important role of management information systems and employee competencies in improving organizational performance, particularly at PT. Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) UP3 Sibolga. The purpose of this study is to determine the impact of management information systems and competencies on employee performance and to simultaneously examine how these two independent variables contribute to improving employee work quality. The method used is quantitative with a descriptive approach. The study population was all 91 permanent employees of PT. PLN (Persero) UP3 Sibolga, with a sample of 35 respondents selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, and questionnaires. Data analysis used multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS. The results indicate that management information systems and competencies have a significant impact on employee performance, with partial significance values of 0.022 and 0.026, respectively (<0.05). Simultaneously, both variables contributed 70.2% to employee performance variability (R² = 0.702), with a suitable regression model (F value = 37.652, sig 0.000). This study recommends that PT. Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) UP3 Sibolga continue to improve partially and simultaneously. This finding indicates that improving the quality of management information systems and developing employee competencies can maximize employee performance.
